How to start an EPF Chapter:
EPF members are encouraged to meet together with other members in their area and form a chapter for mutual support and action. You only need 5 or more EPF national members to begin. Chapters can be based in one parish, a cluster of parishes, the diocese or couple with another peace group in the area. Often the peace and justice committee of a parish or diocese decides to become affiliated with EPF as a chapter.
What do Chapters do?
Most Chapters gather for prayer and study about issues of peace and justice and have specific tasks and issues in which the members are involved. Chapters work on local issues within their parish and communities as well as national and international issues. Chapters sponsor and co-sponsor prayer and public witness such as peace vigils, liturgies, service projects and demonstrations. Some chapters meet twice a month, some once a month and some quarterly. Some chapters communicate mostly by e-mail. Chapters are encouraged to operate as suits their locale.
Check to see if there is already a chapter in your area.
